I know, before when my group started, it took ages before we got a perfect day. This time it happened the day the last one laid her first egg. The next day I got 2 (boo!) and today I got like 4. We're trying to help them decide to lay in the nest box...that's probably unsettling them a little...
We FINALLY got home last night.
When we left, 2 weeks ago, the amberlink and the ameraucana were laying, although the ameraucana had laid just the one egg and the amberlink had only laid 4 (she has not missed a day since she started). While we were away, one by one the others started laying...
Cheeka! I take a break for a few days and cheeka shows up!
Funny I am in co for vacation and now you're gone.
Well the day after I last complained about the low number of layers I have so far, one of the olive Eggers decided to get in on the action.
I'm laughing about the statement that all hybrids do the same thing "exactly as they should."
Mine apparently did not read the manual. She is 4 years old and still lays an egg almost every day.
Be nice to people. It makes everything more fun lol.
No more new layers. Ducky has laid an egg every day since she started and the black chicken has except maybe one day. They are still laying them on the floor (jerks) but oh well I guess.
W4W you shoulda took a day trip up by me! We have them here too. Your best bet to see the most possible is to go to like a field of knee high or so grass...that's where I tend to see them the most. I love them.
