    Vicious Rooster help please

Thank you for the link. I read the entire article and found it interesting. Not all relevant as you say - I’m not running multiple flocks nor have such a huge property. I’ve found one part in particular resonates my situation and could be the main antagonist - feeding treats. the majority of my...

Thank you, I think this approach coupled with the spray bottle might be a good combo. 👍 tomorrow I shall be digging the back of the wardrobe for some thick jeans!

Thank you so much, your kind words have made my day 😍 I love the little ruffian and I’ll keep trying until I’ve nothing left to give! I am very grateful for the helpful suggestions some people have made - they’re exactly the reason I turned to this forum. For the ones I haven’t tried yet I’ll...

Sorry, I’ve misunderstood and made a wrong assumption ☺️ I really only want to try everything possible before giving up on him. I hoped that the experience of others on here might find a solution that could save his life and my pain (emotional and physical!) I understand that I can’t go on as...

Thank you that’s another good idea. I’ll try the water sprayer first and if that fails the umbrella will give me another option (and a bit of protection 😂)

    Vicious Rooster help please

Whooaaa guys - for the record I DO NOT whack him every time he comes near me. I have never whacked him! The only physical contact I have made with him is to “lift” him with my foot! By this I mean putting my foot between his legs and lifting him off the ground. I have tried various methods which...

    Vicious Rooster help please

There are no children in my household or within a half mile radius of my property. The chickens live in my back garden which is fenced off and absolutely no chance of a child entering by accident.

    Vicious Rooster help please

Thanks for the reply. I’ll give that a try. I had thought about it as I’d sprayed him with hose the other night and it stopped him in his tracks 😂 I have a bottle that was previously used for the cats and worked well in stopping them scratching the sofa. It’s definitely worth a try! Thanks you

Hi, there aren’t kids around. I live fairly remote with only 1 neighbour who also has no kids. Only adults between the two houses.

Thanks, I really do hope it’s a phase. He’s such a handsome boy and looks after the hens. The consolation I take from it is that if he can stand up to and injure me - what will he do to a potential predator!

Thanks for your reply. I’m not scared - I’m scarred. It wasn’t a typo, I have wounds all in various stages of healing. I’ll head out later and attempt to get a photo of his spurs and post them.

Thank you for replying. Yes I’ve tried that, I’ve even “thrown” him with my foot, not a kick but putting my foot under his body and throwing him away. I then chased him and repeated til he run off. That worked for a day or two then he seemed to adapt and came at me higher up my body so I...

I’m emotionally attached to him and believe that when you own an animal it’s for life. Oh and I’m vegetarian 😂
