Just here looking at ideas on keeping my birds alive. I have a nesting pair of Bald Eagles on my farm as well as a Pair of Nesting Blue Herons, about six wild Canadian Geese each year, a couple pair of wild ducks etc, my farm is popular with birds due to having five large man made ponds.
Most birds are great, but I have trouble with the Eagles, red tail hawks, Gyrfalcons, Red Kites and several species of large owls. Some years we lose as many as ten or 12 cats and up to a dozen or two chickens. We have yet to ever have any duck survive free range for an entire season, we have lost all 37 ducks we have tried thus far. We are about to get 14 to 16 new ducks for another try and I want to come up with a viable plan for keeping them alive this time round.
