Pretty birds, I had some like Ive never had before hatch this year. Theyre mutts but they sure did turn out pretty momma was a eastern and daddy was a white holland. -

He thinks he's the boss and he's lettem know. The color of peoples clothing has an effect on turkeys moods, red for instance is labeled in turkeys mind as aggresion, white generally is a sign of dominace in turkey visual language. It's neat to watch toms and hens for that matter waddels chage... -
New to turkeys
Looks like a young bourbon red, hard to tell gender from those pics. Possibly alittle young to tell gender for sure. Even my hens display sometimes. -

Thanks for the complement, I didnt know he was gonna have two beards till a few months ago. I've seen wild birds harvested with mulitple beards just havent seen it in hertiage breeds. -

After a few months you can feel it, prolly 5-6 months before fully exposed outside feather line. -

I love Royal Palms, one of my toms was suppose to be a palm but never developed any black coloring. Contacted hatchery they said they musta mixed it with a white holland. He's solid white and blue eyes, and the cool part he has double beards. -

Will my turkeys go inside of a building in the winter?
I have 12 in two seperate runs both have sheds on each ends. None of the birds I have want to roost inside, they did fine last winter. -
Predators?
Trap the coons and everybody will be happier, took me 4-6 weeks to cure my probelm with coons. Only lost one poult this year and it was to a 6' chicken snake that no longer lives there either.
