I am sort of new to chickens I got my first set of 7 Golden Laced wyandottes on the 20th of August 2016 from there I got two americanas and sadly one of each passed away then I got a young Americana roo and no casualties for 7 months and I also got eggs!!! best day of my chicken life LOL fast...

Okay I have a question my grandpa has a friend that has a bunch of chickens and said I could have some if I wanted if I get a broody hen will she help out my baby chicks or do they have to raise them from a egg to be a mother to them

[This is my adventure into raising backyard chickens I'm vary excited about this but I know just the basics so any advice/help is greatly appreciated I will try to post a weekly picture of my girls and one roster I ordered 7 Golden Laced Wyandotte they will be hopefully at my house July 18 2016...
