    I thank everyone for the welcome. However, I may not be here long as I'm thinking of selling all my hens. I've lost 13 in the past 3 months mostly to bobcats. I lost one yesterday evening when a bobcat came within 15 feet of my home and took a hen in broad open daylight. Blessings to all.

    Broody Hen

    I never worry about a broody hen. I let her sit it out for the 21 days (give or take). She leaves the nest and all is well. If you don't want chicks, remove the eggs often and let her sit. She will not starve or dehydrate because she will go eat and drink when she is ready. Their matabolism...
