Sick chicken - lethargic and stock still

Hey, thanks - They are laying, she laid this morning. Her crop is full. They eat vermX layers pellets and treat wise is a mixture of cracked corn, mealworms (dried) and sunflower seed (hearts) - she had a small peck at these earlier today as she’s easily the lightest of the three by at least 1.5 k

    Shell-less egg help. Please.

Apologies for hijacking this post - but I also have shell-less egg woes. I have 3 warrens, all of whom layed a 'good' egg this morning. Now 12 hours later I have just found not one, but TWO shell-less eggs in their run. I thought they could only lay once a day - what is happening please!? I...

Does early free roaming time prevent egg laying? Questions from a new keeper

Thanks Shadrach, is this something that is quite obvious and takes a while or might I not notice and just realise I have a quiet/missing chicken!? They only seem to go quiet/sneaky at the moment when they're doing something naughty! Thank you Perris and hello! I just have to hope that my...

Does early free roaming time prevent egg laying? Questions from a new keeper

@OneHappyRooster Thanks that’s really helpful! They have about 2 acres to roam and seem intent on exploring all the parts I don’t want them in! I suppose that’s where the most interesting bits are - the lavender is taking a bit If a beating at the moment!

Does early free roaming time prevent egg laying? Questions from a new keeper

Good morning BYC I have 3 Warrens who are about 20 weeks. 2 are laying and one (Mouse) is yet to start. One (Frida) lays relatively early, and the other (Nancy) any time from 11pm-2pm. Should I keep them in their run until they have laid? Or can I let them out to roam & will they find their way...

    New member of chicken club

Good morning BYC! (1)(2)(3)I am a brand new (4 weeks in) chicken keeper with what appear to be 3 very happy ISA Browns. 5 eggs so far, expecting two more today and waiting on the youngest/smallest (named Mouse) to start laying. (4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? -...
