Since my crappy zoning ordinance only allows 4 chickens I'm being really picky on my choices I need great egg layers, nice non aggressive breed and any other great aspects, I talked to someone about getting chicks they said they have marans is this a good breed to have?

I may be new but DO NOT USE SAND!!!!!! sand harbors bacteria and diseases and parasites like non other sand is the worst thing you can possibly have for your beautiful chickens

Yea!! I guess I'm still going to have my 4 but I'm so new to this I don't know what breeds are the best egg layers :) and I want colorful eggs :) I'm very excited about all the egg colors
