They are 20 weeks today, the silvery girls have slate legs with pale feet and the black girls have black legs with yellow feet. None of them has any comb or wattles to speak of, not much reddening of the face.

I'm having a really hard time figuring out what I'm working with! They are a barnyard mix, so I know there's not going to be a definitive answer, but I figure if I can get pointed in the right direction, I'll have a better idea of what to expect re: behavior, laying, Etc.

I'm really interested in the answer to your question about free-range hens growing more slowly! My 20-week old girls seem so small compared to others of the same age and they aren't in a pen except to coop up at night.
Any expert thoughts on this?
