I made the mistake of removing what was on the butt after a few days and it killed the chick...i've learned leave it alone or soak with warm water to see if it comes off don't take it off with your fingers.
That's very interesting...my hen that was sitting in winter would leave her eggs for a long time and then go back to brooding...the temps were 21 degrees..all turnd out perfect. Apparently in my case, temperatures weren't a factor.
Not well, 9 hatched, looked good, put in brooder, all died except one male. He is still doing good. They all just keel over and die on their sides in about a day. I have never had this happen before except these eggs from defective chickes ( I believe) from meyer. I think they are all...
I put like 19 eggs in the incubator and apparently the turner wasn't working...I noticed it on about day 4. I reset the incubator and now the eggs started turning. Will there be any harm to the egg because the first few days the eggs weren't being turned? Tomorrow is lockdown day... Thanks
