    Bantam Roos

We have too many roos. I am looking to sell or rehome 3 Bantam roos to make room for more hens. See pics below. I am new to all this and don't know how to ship, sorry. They were hatched the last week of March, 2015. These pics are a few months old, they are much more filled out now.

When do hens start laying and how often?

Should I separate the roos from the hens?

When do hens start laying and how often?

I have 5 Bantam hens and right now only getting 1 egg a day and we think it the same hen. They are only 6 months old and our we have 6 roos with them. Just curious if the laying will pick up this year or if next year will be much better. Thanks!

    Winter Care Tips?

We live in NC so the winter here can be mild, but can also be very snowy and cold. How do I prepare my chickens for the cold weather and possibility of snow/ice? Thanks!

    Night time routine

Thank you Mary! We live in the middle of 300 acres, not much in the way of dogs, but plenty of coyotes and raccoon's. The screens are out of old windows that were very small and sturdy. So it's like a set of 4 instead of 2. They are also fenced in a lot.

    Night time routine

So far we haven't see any sign of predators, but I know they will be coming! Ours are going into the coop at night and we have a screen door we close to keep them in and other animals out. Thanks!

    Night time routine

We have 11 chickens that are now about 10-11 weeks old. We just fenced in the area for the coop and let them out today for the first time. My questions is: will they know to roost in the coop at night or should I put them in it each night? thanks!
