    My neighbors free range rooster!

Catch him, give him away and blame the fox or the stray dog 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cute and funny, or something to correct

Thank you so much for your answers! That’s a really good point here! I like to keep my eyes 😅 How can I discourage that though?

Cute and funny, or something to correct

Hi everyone, I’m a first time chicken mom and my little pullets are 2 month old now. We handled and played with them since we got them a few days old. Now when I go into the run, all 6 of them are running to me and start pecking my shoes or pull my laces. One of my Ameraucanas always comes...

Go figure; when you want a rooster but they sell only pullets

😂 I wish I was that lucky. I ended up with most likely two cockerels instead of the pullets we were dreaming about 🥰 Hopefully they are nice tempered since one can stay. I love the look of lavender Orpington roosters 😊

    6 week lavender Orpington gender

Something else... I heard/read/saw now everywhere that Orpingtons suppose to be super friendly and social birds. Pretty much the Golden Retriever of the Chicken world. Mine are very shy and don’t want to be touched by anyone. Can that still change? Or did the train left the station because they...

What did you do in the garden today?

Thank you! Hopefully this year will be better than the last one! Grasshoppers and birds were my enemies 😞

    A new chick here 😊

Hi everyone! I’m a complete newbie to chicken and proud owner of 4 RIR, 2 Ameraucana ladies and 2 lavender Orpington cockerel(?).... still pretty unclear though... My daughter wanted something to earn money with and also a pet. So chicken it was lol Luckily we still got 6 lovely little chicks...

    6 week lavender Orpington gender

Thank you! They are so different though in their behavior. One is sweet with my girls, lays and cuddles with them and the other one seems almost jealous and protective of his “brother”. I will keep one of them. Hopefully 6 ladies are enough for him :)

    6 week lavender Orpington gender

Thanks for your reply! 😊 One can stay (I love the look of those roosters), but the other one has to move then. Depending which one is a “gentleman” 😁

    6 week lavender Orpington gender

Hi everyone, I know that question came up so often already and I read (I guess) most of them. But I’m still confused what to think of my 6 week old lavender Orpingtons. They both have pretty large, pink combs (which screams roo) but no waddles in sight.... one is slightly larger than the other...
