Thick sticky bloom? What is this?

One of our chickens does not lay in the baskets. She consistently lays on the ground of the coop. Her eggs always have a thick gooey cover layer, almost like a discharge. Is this a thick bloom/cuticle? What is this? Is it a sign of sickness? help! I have attached pictures of the egg she laid...

    Pecking/bullying chickens and geese

With snow accumulating in the area, our flock has become pretty aggressive towards one another. Our two guard geese have given a handful of our chickens a very hard time. 💔To try to counteract these behaviors we extended their winter “run”. We are struggling to alleviate the winter boredom. We...

Free range eggs found in nest after 4 days, still good?

We free range our chickens. We found a nest near our porch with 4 eggs in it. It had to have been over the past four days because we had them in their pen before (someone babysitting the flock for us) Are the eggs still OK to eat even though they were outside for four days?

    Started laying, now NO EGGS!

Two of our chickens began to lay eggs for the first time this spring. They were free ranging and laying consistently. Over the last few days 0 eggs! Today we kept them in their coop all day, still no eggs!! Is this normal to go three to four days without eggs?

    No Eggs 6+Months

We purchased a flock of rare breed chickens at the end of March. We have fourteen girls. We are nearing the 7 month mark. We have not seen any eggs! I am aware that a few of our rare breeds are not mature yet based off of growth of their comb etc. A few of our girls do look very mature and when...
