When I looked them up I knew they weren't red stars. I couldn't find any good pictures on Google of the red rangers at their age. I will take a better picture when I get back home.
I'm not having good luck in buying these beautiful little chicky babies. We bought 6 chicks to replace our 6 cockerels and tractor supply mislabelled them. We talked to someone that said they might be red ranger meat birds or red stars. We were buying egg layers so if they are meat birds we...
That's good to know. I'm going to look into that breed today. As she gets older it will be good to know what she could be so I can know what to look out for with her.
3. soles are very yellow
4. soles are more tan/pink
5. Someone we know went and picked them up locally from the person that gives them their birds. They gave us the "pullets" they had left. Only one we know they got right was the Rhode Island Red but it ended up being a cockerel and not a pullet...
I figured with the comb and pattern but when we got her they told us Dominique. When I saw the comb of the Dominique and I think the legs I knew that wasn't right.
We have 6 cockerels (1,2,4,6,7 and 8), 3 looks like a pullet but can hold her own with the cockerels so I don't know, and 5 we know is a pullet she is usually being protected by someone at all times.
I have 8 chicks and 6 are maybe... probably.... most likely cockerels lol. Im still trying to hold on to a little hope that somehow they all just developed too early lol. Im also suspecting I have a 7th that is a cockerel as well. Anyway I have to find these boys a home before they possibly turn...
We were told to wait and to see what happens. The smaller ones are almost ready to go outside so they will all be moving to the coop soon . I don't really trust putting them outside with the one pullet. I don't want her to get hurt if they start fighting. Do I separate her now?
I'm going to call in the morning and hopefully it wasn't intentional of the breeder. I wish I would of known sooner. There is one we've gotten attached to. We prayed for it when it got sick and nursed it back to health. I now know that she is in fact a he lol. I need to go to sleep because I'm...
I thought about that after looking back at my pictures. I really hope that isn't the case here but if it is I'm going to have to find a home for 7 cockerels which won't be easy considering I'm new to this. I doubt they'd take them back if they turn out to be shady.
