I'm rather impatient. I've been singing to my eggs. Who knows if that helps... But by the end of the song I'm more loudly grumbling with a tune... "Rock a bye chickies, in the bator, please hurry up and haatch right now not laterr..." for everyone!
Nice 'bator! How the heck did you get that thing? It look super nice! So, ducklings? How cute! I love ducks! When I checked just a minute ago, I noticed that one of the eggs had turned from the part of it's shell that reads "O" to the side that says July 23! Woohoo! That means it scooched...
I'm so anxious/bored/excited that I just ate an entire box of tic-tacs. WOAH. Okay. Take deep breaths. What breeds/how many eggs are you incubating? I've got five Ameraucanas and three Silkies. Post a picture of your brooder/wherever you're putting them when they hatch! Glad to have someone to...
Post pictures when they start to pip! I'll do the same. I'm so excited! Yet, I worry about them not hatching! Even though its only day 19! Mine might be a day late because I started with a broken thermometer, but I hope not! Hatch chickies, hatch! I think I"m going to force myself to take a nap...
Good luck with your chicks! I know how you feel, Lockdown was yesterday for me and I'm running to the incubator every five minutes to see if mine are hatching yet! AGHHH come on and hatch chickies so I can marvel at your cuteness! for the both of us!
What day is it for your eggs? The 22nd? as for the cooked corn smell... Maybe try re-checking your temperatures? Are you sure it isn't too hot in there? Although, I really do think incubating eggs have their own sort of unique smell. Your temperature fluctuations may be the cause of your...
Ohh! Those "little" farts will be so cute! Before you decided to incubate some, did you ever eat any of these eggs? That would make one heck of an omelet !
Like tinychickenlady said, if you don't have other means of dispatching it, just drown the thing. If it's a skunk, tie some bailing twine or some rope to the trap, preferably before you set it so you don't get sprayed, and drag it into some body of water. Sorry about your babies. This has...
Ah. Makes sense. I will cut back on my candling. I want my chicks to have every bit of chances and good luck they can get. So excited for these little fluffballs!
I have seen life in an egg as early as three days, but I've just learned that it probably isn't really a good idea. I'm just going to candle on those three days from now on so I can give my babies the best chances of hatching.
