Why is my chicken 'fluffing up'

Thank you! She is about 6 months old now. No eggs yet. I will check to see the rest tomorrow morning and be back with a response. About the sneezing, she only does it occasionally. And I believe I have seen some sort of liquid around her eye area, but will have a closer look tomorrow.

Why is my chicken 'fluffing up'

Hello. So, my mille fleur cross bantam, Lady Agnes, has been acting weird recently. She just like fluffs up her feathers and puts her head in her chest, and kind of keeps to herself, distancing from the rest of the flock and she just seems sort of lethargic. She also makes sneezing (I think)...

Ended up with a two male- three female flock. Thoughts?

Whoa, that does sound intimidating. Wouldn't have thought drakes can be such jerks. Thinking back on it, it would be kind of the sellers' mistake for selling me a male (if it does turn out to be one), while he was claiming it to be a female. So maybe, if it turns out to be a confirmed drake,I'll...

Ended up with a two male- three female flock. Thoughts?

Thank you for your reply! The males are really really calm and so far have never fought over anything. The females seem to be more feisty at times 😆 I also see the getting more ducks option as the best one, and I hope that I'll get some more adult hens by the time they are sexually mature. In...

Ended up with a two male- three female flock. Thoughts?

Well they have a decently sized (about 3 square meters) chicken tractor where they only sleep in at night. I am going to hopefully build them a bigger coop next to the chicken's one în the near future though. Separation would not really be an option as of now, as I don't have any other...

Ended up with a two male- three female flock. Thoughts?

Hi everyone! As you might know from my other posts around here I am a beginner duck owner. I have 3 pekin ducks, 2 females and one male of about three months old. I know that to avoid over mating in a duck flock, you'd need at least three females per male, and so, I decided to get myself two...

    Duck weirdly opening her mouth/panting?

Maybe she's not yet used to me completely and is nervous being around me? I'll try to watch if she behaves the same without seeing me.

    Duck weirdly opening her mouth/panting?

She does, they're running around the yard together as we speak. 😕

    Duck weirdly opening her mouth/panting?

Yeah, they got along well ever since first day so I only saw fit to do the introduction for 3 days prior to letting them live in the same pen. She also has a sibling I got her along with. They now free range during the day with chickens too, so maybe those are stressing her out a bit

    Duck weirdly opening her mouth/panting?

Pretty much the title..she opens her mouth like halfway through, but does not like close and open it, she just keeps it open..she seems to stop after I give her water to drink tho, she also avoids the heat and goes to shade, so maybe overheating? Or is she stressed? She is new to the flock so...

(BEGGINNER) Should two year old ducks live in the same coop as three two month old ducklings?

Yes, I'm now fully aknowledging the risks of getting a drake due to all the kind people such as yourself advising me on the matter, but at the time only a drake and a hen were left, and driven by my passion for the breed, I took that into consideration. A buyer changed their mind though, and now...

(BEGGINNER) Should two year old ducks live in the same coop as three two month old ducklings?

I was in fact looking for 2 hens, but since there were only a breeding pair left and driven by my rather impulsive passion for runners I would have been risking my other ducks' safety. Glad the opportunity showed up for me to get two females. I'm hoping to get those two now. :)

(BEGGINNER) Should two year old ducks live in the same coop as three two month old ducklings?

Yep, at that time there were only a drake and a hen left, but a buyer changed his mind and now there are two hens for me to buy and now I'm considering it as we have 1 drake and the rest 2 hens in the pekin flock, and I read a 1 drake to 4 hens ratio is recommended to avoid overmating with the...
