i have four RIR....one started laying at 24 weeks (small eggs).....she lays everyday....the other 3 haven't started laying yet....hopefully any day now....

thanks much for the info but i've decided to trade my BR roo plus a few bucks for a pullet....I purchased 6 baby chicks back in March and out of the 6 i had a rhode island red rooster and now this BR....I did trade the rhode island with a chicken man here in town for one of his young RIR pullets...
i also noticed a small spur on the back of foot....looks like a roo....no crowing yet...thank goodness i live in the country and hardly anyone around to hear the crowing....hubby doesn't like the idea of mixing the breads...for some reason he wants all thoroughbreds.....i'm going to keep the roo...

oh no....i hope not...i caught this barred rock trying to mount my older Easter Egger pullet today and that's when I began to question it....they say barred rock pullets have a slight black pigment to their feet and I notice this on this ones feet...but I'm so confused because he/she is getting...
