It is with a very heavy heart that I tell everyone that dear little Chip has lost her battle to live. She gave a great fight and was always bright and vocal when you called her name. We miss this little feathered imp painfully already. She was our "house chicken" as she would never have...
ROFLMBO ........Thanks guys. Chipper knows she is special, trust me..... Threehorses - I am sort of sorry about you getting frizzles ...... But I don't think Chip is .
Yes I have been doing the whole yogurt, vitamins and what not for her.
Birdlover, Chip says thank you
Right now she is...
ok, Chip is very active, curious and vocal. Yet she still cannot get up if she is on her side but has learned to squak pretty load when she needs help up. She does not seem to have use of her wings, but can and will take off and move all over the place. She is eating very well and otherwise...
So far today, little Chipp is doing fine. Currently sitting in her box "purring" with a full gullet. She is still a little off, but doing well. She was not real sure about her new diet, but has been digging into it with gusto since she realized it was good stuff.......
That is the thing, she does not have any issue walking forward or backward, eats just fine. Her gullet is almost always full. Than kyou for the Poly-vi-sol suggestion.
I will see what she will do best with.... she is just a little spoiled now.. the little turd......
IF you would like a higher res pic of her, just let me know and I will Be glad to send you one She is so spoiled already, that she may need to wear shades I hope she will pull through all this too. I will keep y'all updated on how she is doing.
Thanks again!!
Thanks, she is a real sweetheart. So curious...... when she does fall over she will chirp loud to get my attention and stop struggling till I get her back on her feet. I hope she makes it too, she has a real special place in our hearts........ We have been callin her Chipper cause she chips so...
I have an aprox. 2 month old Bantam frizzle chick that has me worried. 2 weeks ago I found her on her side in the hut with the other chicks unable to get up. She was getting stepped on by the others, so I brought her in the house to a box of her own.
She walks around, roosts, eats, drinks...
