Thank you, He is recovering well. Still tired, which his doctor says is normal.
It looks like 4 of them are actually hens, one is a Sussex so she looks tiny in the mix:lol: But the rest of them are very nice to her and I enjoy watching them all together. Its my first time having a cochin...
Trigger warning Health issues!
Hi! Been more than a little busy here! My husband works long hours (as do many) at a stress filled job at a saw mill and recently, at just 51 suffered a massive heart attack. We were very lucky and he survived, but it's been an adjustment for us both. I'm disabled...
Any advice on how to break her of being Broody?? She is young. 5 months old I think?? All of the girls are that young. I had heard of chickens becoming broody but I didn't think it would happen so young
I have the max amount of girls for my area. 8 wonderful ladies who just started laying a little over a month ago. We have enjoyed every part of my finally having my chickens, as it has been many years since I was able to have my own girls. The girls are all still pretty young and this is almost...
I wish I could help identify them, all I know for sure is they are cuties!! Our flock is also 8! Which is the number allowed for the area we are in. Plus hubby thinks that is more then enough for me. LOL
Good luck!
Thank you! My flock all seem happy. Luckily we have done this before, it's just been awhile. And I like new ideas or others thoughts. It's the best way to keep our girls happy I think
I really need to try and get some better pictures and since we finally picked names for them, add those so that I can post them and watch them grow up on here. I really am new at this type of thing, the forum deal I mean. And my level of happiness about having them is also pretty big too.
I didn't think of that! But that is a wonderful idea! Do you just... lay them out and let them see you brought them yummies, or do you try and hand feed them?
I got a couple of pictures onto a reply here, did you see them?? LOL
Thank you so much!! I am thrilled as at 53, this is my very first home. And I have wanted chickens for awhile now. I grew up in the country and we had them when I was young. My auntie did any way. I grew up on my grandparents property, but it had them, my aunt and my family all on it.
