I don't know why I called it limescale, it is the product in the screenshot below. But the crumbles are too big, I'll go see what they have at the feed store today.
She usually lays every day but she is still young.
She did it! During the night. She is happy and chatty this morning.
So do I give her some calcium for the rest of the week? Maybe change out her food for a different brand. She doesn't like the lime scale I got for them.
I'll be watching her tomorrow and will post feedback. She was calm after I gave her die calcium and did poop once, very runny.
Will do the electrolytes tomorrow for sure.
My girl is egg bound, we'll I think so, I'm new. She is waddling, much less responsive, her vent feels like there is something (I think, didn't want to touch to hard or too much) and she is eating very little. Hasn't layed in 2days,although she is a fairly new layer. Also to be said that it's...
I like it, definitely going to try it. Thank you!
Yes the flies are indeed a thing. I bought these fly traps from amazon and they are making a big difference, have 3 in & around the coop. No chemicals, just stinky bait.
I love this idea. Do they willingly go stand in the water or do you need to lure them with treats? I'm going to pick up some dollar store trays today and try it out! Thank you.
New chick mom, our girls are almost 3months old. Their coop & run have plenty of shade and fresh water.. Now that temps are starting to rise I notice them panting a lot. I know this is how they regulate but when should I be worried?
It's about 97 outside today.
What should I be looking out for...
My girl is about 6 weeks old and my oh my, do I hope it's a girl. Anyone with more experience willing to give advice if this is a pullet or a roo?
Also, look how beautiful her eyes are. 😱
She sleeps inside but spends the day outside. We have yet to completely secure the coop, have had some unwanted night time visitors. Probably ready by the weekend.

They are adorable!
:( on the cockerel, that is what I'm afraid of which means we have 2 cockerels and one pullet. Not allowed to have cockerels in our city, so they need to go back to the breeder farm :(
Morning! New chicken mom here. Bought these cuties 4 weeks ago, they are growing so quick! They were all supposed to be hens but two of the three are developing much quicker and I'm worried that they are roosters. Any educated guesses to help me out?
Photos A are the same chicken, showing a...
