I completely understand. We are looking gloomy here. We are at 24 days and no hatching. Heard peeping on day 21 then nothing. I openned one egg yesterday to find a fully developed chick that was not alive. Giving the others a couple more days.
I am excited. I live in an area of North Carolina that is moving towards a self sustainable community, but do not have an outlet or organization to bring my eggs to market. We have 16 hens and are producing 70-90 eggs a week. I am, for North Carolina laws, still low enough in production to not...
I understand your frustration. We are 2 days over due. 2 days ago they were making noise, now nothing. Humidity is high and temp is solid. I do not know what else to do.
I have 16 hens, 1 rooster. Coop is 9'x6' and the covered run is 10'x21' and 7' tall. They have layer pellet and cracmes corn with fresh water everyday. Also have 15 nests. I will post a picture soon.
Thank you
Tony
My hens are losing their back feathers, and or top of back feathers and some are even losing feathers off their wings (joint distal to their shoulder).
Help!!! Normal...something wrong...or rooster just too friskey?
