Help! I've fallen and can't get up!

If you get closeup you can see the black marks are without any kind of injuries. We have mosquitos year round here, and they are always around the shaded coop. It is 80 degrees today and those little buggers will tear you up!

Help! I've fallen and can't get up!

I dont see any mites, combs dont look pale. There have been no new additions to my flock since the boys were newly hatched chicks. I was able to get some pictures of their faces with the black spots today while I was out cleaning their coop and run. Could it be fowl pox? I dont really see...

Help! I've fallen and can't get up!

Without catching him, I dont see any injuries. His eyes look ok, clear, normal. He is eating and drinking, staying with the flock. There is no paint on their coop/run so no lead. Going to try and grab him tomorrow to get a close up exam.

Help! I've fallen and can't get up!

This is the second day I've looked and and seen one of my roosters upside down in the grass. After noticing that he was still there even after about 15 minutes I went to check on him again. He's upside down on his back, laying in a small rut in the grass. He gets a little wiggly upon my approach...

5 Week Old Chicks - Do They Still Need a Heating Plate?

I get my chicks (silkies included) out of the house ASAP. My current 5 week olds were put out after about 7 days post hatch with a brooder plate. I waited because of really high daytime temps. If its cooler, its as soon as i get them. I keep them in a small prefab coop inside of the big girls...

Hurricane coming - opinions welcome for preps

In my area we have frequent Hurricanes every year. (Had a cat two several weeks ago) A Cat 2 (100 mph winds) would easily blow that pen away very quickly. If it comes in as a 3, kiss that cube goodbye! Of course this all does depend on how close to the coast you live where it makes landfall. I...

Lets play guess the sex of these 9 week olds!

Hershey #1 is a chocolate silver laced orpington not a wyandotte; iffy but behavior tells me its gonna be a roo #2 is a black mottled orpington #3 is a black mottled orpington cockerel #4 is a silver Laced wyandotte probably pullet.

Lets play guess the sex of these 9 week olds!

Got a few teenagers I'm trying to nail down whether they are pullet or roos. I already have my suspicions/guesses but want other opinions from those better at this. The first three are 9 week old orpingtons. 1st bird, Hershey: bird two: Bird three I'm pretty certain its a cockerel. Bird...
