Blueberry bushes, poisonous?
I am thinking about putting some blueberry bushes in my run with my Japanese quail. They will be mostly for coverage and hiding places for the quail. I read somewhere that fruit can be toxic for quail, has anyone has bad affects from blueberries? -
when should I expect eggs??
Mine didn't lay until they were 12 weeks. Try giving them oyster shell that might be the calcium boost they need. Otherwise they might just not be ready yet. -

Here is mine! Made it myself. The coop is detachable so I can bring them inside on cold nights. I have 6 coturnix right now. I added a sand bath, the run is 4x4x4. -

Dust bathing
I took sand from by a river, I put it in a disposable roasting pan. They love it!!! Most of it will end up everywhere besides in the pan tho. -

I got the freezer dried meal worms, they love them!! It is like a mad dash to snatch them up once they realize what they are. They also love earth worms. They pick at the egg shell but don't seem too interested. They don't care for greens either. Any one else have any secret treats? They... -

Ok cool, thanks. I won't be breeding them, when I get them what kinds of questions should I ask the breeder? Also what should I look for when picking my chick? I am still not sure I will be able to tell male/females apart when they are young. Any suggestions? Tricks? -
