One Chick got sick maybe fowl pox, what can I do?

Thanks for all your advice. At our area we can not get Chicken vitamins. Is there other things that can be done? I have to travel on monday and will be away for about a week, a neighbour will feed them. It is really not nice situation if they would die while someone else takes care of them.

Will young chicks survive it too? Is there something one can do to support the healing process?

Apparently It is more serious. I suspect that it is a disease. The one with the bump on the neck died. A had a closer look at the chicks and they all seem weak. I found some bumps on their mouths and eyes and some of them are bleeding. I am surprised I didn't see this earlier. Here are some...

One Chick got sick maybe fowl pox, what can I do?

What is the difference between Hard Skin inflamation and an abscess? However I think it is an abscess because it stands out a bit. There is no vet anywhere near! How much is the chance of Survival, the chick is only a few weeks old. What could I do to prevent this to happen again? Best Regards.

    Strange disease? Or some defficiency?

They are recovering fast and the Egg production went up. Now I will start to treat them for Leg mites too. Can you Let them breed while doing this treatment? I'm concerned that the petroleum jelly on the legs of the hen will be rubbed on the eggs. Is this a problem?

    Strange disease? Or some defficiency?

Ok I will find out what medicine is available in our area. Guess not much because we are in a small town. I treated them with Paraffine mixed with cooking oil. Another thing I am concerned about ist the water, it is high in fluoride, can this affect the chickens?

    Strange disease? Or some defficiency?

Thanks for your reply. This ones legs looked like that when we got her. The others legs are all looking clean. For safety we treated them several times for legmites. We also checked for lice and found nothing. Maibe we could check for red mites at night.

They struggle to walk it looks like their knees are weak. Some prefer just to sit. This desease must have been going on for some time now. First I...

    Low fertility.

I opened two of the eggs who did not show any development. When I opened them the where actually small development in them. And they had a bad smell. So I guess the problem is with the hens. Sometimes after getting off for eating they had a competition who can sit on the nest with the most eggs...

Thanks I have a mixed race of chickens that grows in the north of Namibia I don't know what I should call them. The feathers are definitely not the problem. While I gave them some Low quality feed the fertility rate was high. Now that I give proper chicken feed the fertility rate is low. The...
