This is ours. We had a terrarium we haven't used in years so I repurposed it for the chickies :-), I made them a heat plate from things I already had around the house (germination heat mat, hardware cloth and tubes of those shelf that pops in a plastic thing) for the frame under their water...
I had to pull the very first born out cause he was being so mean to the second one that came out, it kept pecking it everywhere and wouldn't give up.. the meany but now they are all good
well 6 puffy nuggets made it. unfortunately something went wrong with the 7th, it looked like shrink wrap when I opened it this morning. I candled it last night and no movement but figured I would wait but it didn't make it.
I watched many videos on quitters and most show a red line, mine doesn't show a red line but when I candle it the dark spot now follows the direction I turn the egg like an unfertilized egg. Am I correct to think the chick has stopped developing and died? I have left it alone for a few days to...
Stay at home wife.. so everything becomes a hobby eventually except being an electrician or mechanic, learned my lesson the hard way with both of those and I don’t like it 🤣 got shocked with one and made issue worse with the other 🙂.. lately it’s sewing cause of the craft show i’m going to soon.
First time hatcher :-) going on lock down this Sunday. Barn yard mix joining mother in law's flock when they are ready to travel. out of 12, 8 were fertile but pretty sure I also have a quitter.
I will be looking to buy Lavender Orpington hatching eggs in the spring and would love to know if anyone in Ontario, Canada will be selling some with shipping available.
Would like to know where the sellers are so I don't have to endlessly search the web :-)
