I’ve seen lots of sites that say it’s perfectly fine to use. Then I see sites with info like you responded with. So I don’t really know what to think. I don’t want to do anything harmful to my hens but how am I supposed to know what’s correct?
Their diet is what it’s always been, Purina layena crumbles with free choice grit and oyster shells.
I will try to get some pics of her, it may be hard since I don’t have help and she’s not very social lol.
She’s acting normal, eating and drinking, laying eggs like she normally does...
One of my chickens has what I assume to be vent gleet-a very messy bottom with a white/yellow discharge. I checked all the chickens for signs of mites, don’t see any on them. But I have treated like they have them, cleaned the coop completely, dusted all surface areas with food grade DE, added...
What kind of comb is my easter egger cockerel growing? It’s always had that weird circle like area at the top that was flat-like but now it looks like it’s different🤷🏻♀️ he’s 10 weeks old.
Update: Definitely a boy!! Started crowing around 9 weeks old. This is a pic from today, Colonel Sanders (my son named him 🤪) is about 15 weeks old now
I bought 1 Olive egger and 2 Easter eggers from Mt Healthy Hatchery; I got 4 total chicks. I assume that the 2 black chicks are the olive eggers and the other 2 the Easter eggers (first pic is the day I picked them up from the post office-the one in question is circled)
This chick is bigger...
I’ve been wondering the same thing! I’ve tried to give mine mealworms and fresh strawberries and they couldn’t care less 🤷🏻♀️
but they do like when I put a chunk of fresh grass/sod in the run for them, they peck and scratch at it!
Also feeding them their regular feed from my hand seems to make...
So I accidentally bought this feed instead of the organic starter I was intending to buy (same color bag, not paying attention and trying to get out the store quickly as it was crowded 🤦🏻♀️)
But, I have 7 week old chicks, and I’m getting 1 day old chicks next week. Is this appropriate to feed...
Unfortunately I have not figured out why. Three of them have short stubby beaks. The forth one has a beak that the top is shorter than the bottom, but she’s eating and drinking fine.
I too thought it was their egg tooth that fell off, but I don’t know 🤷🏻♀️
Hello! I’ve been told this is a gold laced sebright by the members of this great community 🙂
My question now is how do you determine the gender of this breed, and can anyone tell me if mine is a boy or girl? In the pics, the bird in question is about 5-6 weeks old. Thanks so much!
(Also, sorry...
