Hen chick crowing??
We have 2 14 week old barred rock chicks that are also crowing and I believe they are hens. I've read that hens can crow also, especially if there is no rooster.- NewChickenMamaNM

Oh, we also moved the coop over by the house so it would get shade in the afternoon from the house. And then we have our own chicken viewing station from the dining room 😁- NewChickenMamaNM

Hi, we live in NM and the sun is definitely an issue here. We ended up modifying our coop like you're talking about several times.
