I don't have Silkies but my mother has a ton of them and from what I've seen it doesn't look normal but hopefully a more experienced person will be along shortly to help.

    Easter Egger club!

I am perfectly happy with my cockerels and I haven't expressed otherwise. And I have thanked everyone that has replied to any of my threads, including you, showing plenty of respect. Maybe someone gives me their opinion that has a lot of experience sexing chicks but has never done so with EEs...

    Easter Egger club!

Yes it did, being that's the one I mentioned only getting a few opinions. I wasn't aware that I could only ask once or that I couldn't get the opinion of these wonderful people in the EE club. But the point is that I didn't ask you specifically about them so you didnt have to reply.

    Easter Egger club!

Yes I've been answered before but it wasn't in a thread specifically for EEs and more then one opinion is always helpful in my eyes. Some may have different opinions and since I had only gotten 2 opinions on my previous post and one before where YOU said nugget and Parmesean both looked like...

has anyone have their hens bodies returned

Just because she had a fatty liver doesn't mean she was overweight. Humans can get fatty liver too, even skinny humans. My mother in law just had a friend pass away a few days ago because of a fatty liver. Fatty liver is one of the leading causes in mortality in laying hens because they usually...

I did it - Meat bird !!!!! SO pleased!!!!

Congratulations... Umm I guess lol! I wish I could do the deed but I just rehome my roos. I think it would be great not having to buy chicken at the store when I have a yard full of them but I don't even know how to pluck or process a chicken lol and I especially don't know how to "do the deed".

    Fermenting Feed

I have it in the house so its well above 40 degrees. And I used tap water but I filtered it using a filter that filters out chlorine.

    Blue/green laying sex linked

Very interesting seeing as how my EE cockerel that is crossed with something barred had a white spot on the top of his head when he was a little chick. He is the only one that I have that looks like this and they all supposedly came from the same hatch.

    Blue/green laying sex linked

Sorry to jump on this post out of nowhere but just curious as to why you don't want a barred male? Im new and have never bred chickens. And I have a EE that is obviously crossed with something because he is barred.
