No they couldn't find out what was wrong. She was having respiratory problems and the only way to to help (from what little they knew) was to put a hose in her throat to help with oxygen. They said they might have had to cut her open to try and figure out what was wrong since the x-rays...

She hasn't been around any new plants than the ones she's grown up with since we got her. I don't know the names of them, but at the time she lost her voice she was inside.
We are debating it but we're weary of accidentally picking up a male duckling. We don't have the room for a whole flock, but we do have room for a small handful. Plus we really enjoy having her inside with us when the weather isn't so great.
