I just "harvested" my hen and tom bronze this morning. Both were too big for the fryer. I assume you are talking about the outside deep fryer. I ended up skinning both and cutting them into pieces. The tom was easily 40 pounds, the hen maybe 35. Just too huge for any hot bath I could come up...
I feed my birds (18 chickens and 2 turkeys) frozen corn, peas, and mixed vegetables everyday. They also get lettuce and tomato.
It took them a bit to figure out to wait a couple of minutes for the frozen veggies to thaw.
They also get watermelon when its hot outside.
When it's hot my layers...
My 3 week old chicks are living outside in the coop with no heat lamp. I'm in Maine, it's been 50 to 75 during the day and has been in the high 40's at night. They huddle together at night and stay warm just fine.

I have 6 Buff Orpington and 6 Silver Wyandottes. All hens I got from a local farm, Longhorn Farms. They were vaccinated with Mareks. Blood goes into the garden. They are at 16 weeks and I am going to butcher starting this weekend.
I used sand in the brooder since day one. Out in the coop I go to the road end of my driveway and just shovel up a wheelbarrow full of the sand the snowploys pushed to the side of the road. It's full of twigs and grass and other stuff. They have no problem walking and picking through and...
I gave my meat birds 3 whole raw eggs. They couldn't figure out how to peck hard enough to break the shells so I used a marker and put red dots all over the shells. Bingo! They sure do love raw eggs.
I got my 6 Buff Orps and 6 Siger Wyandottes today.. I put them in the brooder and left them to get acclimated. A couple of time I just knelt ajd looked in. I put my hand in away frpm the birds and just dangled it. Then they started following my finger around. Now they are fine with me. (I'm not...
