    Has anyone tried Neem for mites? How about pyrethrum instead of permethrin? I think I have mites, as my hens are picking at the rooster, like grooming for bugs

    No vaccinations , no isolation and the last one to die was too skinny to eat. But yes, I have eaten others with no symptoms and I am doing my 7 meat birds this weekend.

    My flock was diagnosed with Marek's 3 years ago. Since then I have raised chicks and gotten new hens and there has been no new outbreaks since the first year.     I thought of that too, but it's smeared all over his chest about the height the hen would be when mounted. Just hoping he isn't hurting anyone

    My rooster has gotten egg on his chest from somewhere a couple times now. Noone is laying. My year old hens stopped this summer and my pullets haven't started yet

    as soon as I get my new pullets, I will try sprouting the oats and let you know how it goes. I have shallow plastic trays that seafood came in at a restaurant, drilled holes in the bottom for drainage. Did some BOSS last year, but the hens weren't too excited

    Should the pullets be a certain age before you feed sprouts? I bought a bag of race horse oats from Agway, will those sprout? This has probably been answered before, sorry if it's a duplicate

    I feed Poulin crumbles for my Golden Comet ladies. And scraps from the kitchen. Free choice with no waste.
