Any new breeds considered will have to be investigated thru BYC. If they aren’t members of the United Naions, they are excluded ;-)
I have been raising hens for 35 years in CA and finally joining BYC after lurking for a few years.
I usually have about 12 or so in a 60 sf coop. I used to like to let them out to free range, but the last couple of years a bobcat has nabbed a few. Bummer...very enjoyable to see them pecking...
