    I just love the coloring on this little one. I got a bunch of hatching eggs from someone and this is one of the chicks that hatched. Her roosters are white leghorn and Icelandic. But a variety of hens. Any idea what she could be mixed with?

    Oh ok that's good to know! The BR vent was obviously larger than the other. So I'm almost positive it was her. My RIR looked bigger than my non layers so maybe she's next.

    Thanks! So I compared vents and definitely the br looks like something just came out of it She's such a good girl. Also, the vent on the RIR looks bigger so maybe she's next? Do they start widening as they get close to laying?

    One of my girls laid her fist egg today! I'm not 100% sure who it was. It's a brown egg so the possible suspects are barred rock, Rhode Island red, or silver laced Wyandotte.     My first Swedish flower. Im loving the colors and patterns popping out. I'm leaning pullet at 7 weeks but I'm no expert. What do you all think? S/he is very inquisitive, especially when I pull my camera out :)

    At what age do the splashes start getting their splash marks? Mine is 6 weeks and still pretty white. Only a couple small markings.
