Many here on the forums would know what to look for as would the state however most of the chickens I've butchered have been health.     If this one dies also I'm sending it in to the state (NC). My family raises meat birds. Over 100,000 every 3-4 months. I have had chickens for 33 years. I've never seen this. You can only treat a chick or chicken for so many illnesses. I don't see a match with what I know when it come to chickens.

    That brooder in the pic is actually a foldable shipping crate sold by Uline. I think that's the name of the company. It folds down to about 2 1/2 inches thick. Pallet collars is what it's called. Sold by uline.

    Shelf liner is in! We washed it and let it dry while I took the pics. I have a larger brooder in the barn that has a covered top that they will go in to with in a week. That is if we have any left. Half are sold already.

    Anyone use SAND in the run/coop

    I use clay soil here in NC to repair and fix drainage areas. It packs solid and works great. After the clay is packed tight you can add sand. In north Carolina all we have is red clay as soil so its easy for us. Not sure if you have good red clay available tho.
