The nest box is @2ft. off the ground. I leaned a wood ladder to the box for the chicks (since they were able to jump down); I figure they can run up the short wood ladder ?

The problem that came up recently is with one of my Muscovy Ducks (2 females).
She had been laying fine. Then, there had been a few rubbery but now for the last week it's been only "Shell- Less" eggs. The yolk & white is on the ground !
Yes. A customer who had bought eggs the previous week "returned to me" a container with an egg she'd cracked to use that had a small marble looking object in it.

The "blob" is the hard mass covering the top & sides of her toe.
I thought that it might be an accumulation of mud & fecal matter that it may soften with the soaks.
What happened was the scales & feet did soften BUT it loosen the "blob" to where when it moved it bleed.
I let her soak yesterday...
