    If you take the back off you can completely remove the bottom tray. I would then place it on the bottom of the incubator to give you the clearance you need to keep the second tray from hitting it. Good luck......

    Solid birds, hardy in all conditions here in the PNW. A great challenge to breed.You really really need some Araucanas. They seem to be a sturdy bird. WE have had them for a few years now, and still have some of the original stock. Still laying.

    It is highly doubtful. Are your meat chickens a cornish cross? If so, they really don't do much other than eat, poop, eat, poop, and on. I would not worry at all.

    I would give her a day or two to make sure she is serious. I would think you can just lay the eggs in the nest box next to her and she will grab them all up and perform her magic. Good luck!!

    First batch to incubator

    Random update: Added to the incubator. 9 Pilgrim, 8 Roman, and 1 Buff. There are a couple more roman eggs in the pen that will get eggnapped later today most likely. So far, only the first batch is far enough to tell anything.
