    Penny, thank you so much for your help. Vet said it is not broken or dislocated. Xrays done from every angle. After a shot of steroids and advice on warm epson soaks Rossie is doing a lot better. Actually placing his leg down for short periods of time and moving a lot better.

    We have her at the vet. We were lucky and found a new local one with 25 office visit and 80 for xrays. She thinks it may be disclocated and is xraying now. I'll keep everyone posted.

    Questions about chicken with injured leg

    Following. Our Boxer tried to "play" with our 7 week old chick and it is doing the same thing. Almost positive it isnt broken (no grinding, clicking or obvious fractures) but it just can't move the leg normally.

    Why is the aspirin bad? Everything I read recommends it for pain and inflammation? Is it the age? I'm trying to learn on the fly here and totally understand the internet can be misleading. Is the cottage cheese and eggs better than the medicated chick feed for a convalescent bird?

    Approximately 6 week old mixed breed of light build. Our dogs broke in and killed two of our three chicks and left this one injured. S(he) is eating, drinking, passing still normally.
