How long does it take??
Ok, out of the 6 eggs we started with, we lost one to an egg eater so moved the remaining 5 in the incubator, 3 of those didn't develops, but 2 did. Now one one has been trying to hatch out for at least a good 8 hours and seems to be getting close. How long does it typically take for a chick...- NoAcres

Easter egger egg
Yes we are incubating them. We had them under a broody hen, but we have an egg eater and lost one, so brought them inside to incubate instead- NoAcres

Broody Hen with no Rooster
I have a buff orpington that has gone broody in the last couple of days. We do want more chicks, but my question is, should I get fertile eggs to sneak under her or 1 day old chicks? Do I need to wait the full 21 days to put live chicks in with her? Just wondering if she has her own time...- NoAcres
