Thank you! Unfortunately, I didn’t see it happen. They are in a run covered with hardware cloth when we aren’t free ranging them. She could have been trying to get something through the hardware cloth? I do know it happened some point today, because it was not like that yesterday.
We noticed during our free range time one of our hens has a broken beak. We are first time chicken owners, so this is new to us. She seems to be eating and drinking fine. Is there anything I need to do or watch for? TYIA!!
They all came from our local tractor supply. We got 9 chicks and all ended up being ladies, so I think we hit the chicken lottery! lol

These are all really good things to look out for. I haven’t had a chance to get a hold of the eggs yet. Usually I notice them going bonkers in the run, and by the time I get out there I see they are already eating the egg. I’ve only actually seen it a handful of times.
