Took her to the vet, they did an exam and x ray, and couldn't figure out what it was, besides that it was likely a reproductive issue - she's on meloxicam now and is feeling a bit better, she's willing to eat and stand up. Hoping she'll recover but I know its not likely
No bad odour, she was willing to eat a few bites of canned tuna but that's all - she hasn't pooped at all since I brought her inside, it's been about an hour but I'll update if she does
One of my hens (4yo black sex link) has been acting off since last night - she's lethargic (barely moving at all), fluffed up, won't really eat, won't drink, and had a clear yellow liquid coming from her beak when I went out to bring her inside today - planning on taking her to the vet asap but...
Leaning towards pullet for the Sussex, I know one of the orps is a pullet but I'm struggling with the other 2 - does anyone have any input? They're looking like cockerels to me but I'm not certain
This baby hatched early this morning and I realized one of its eyes has a cloudy/blue pupil, while the other one looks perfectly fine (brown iris and black pupil) - is this something that could go away or is it a sign of blindness/another eye issue?
assuming so, the dark spot on the top of the egg is all there is - day 10. I can't see any movement & the other egg that's developing is a lot more filled in than this one - I can't see veins or anything either since they're dark eggs
Can't see any movement, don't think it's internally pipped, & air cell looks a bit weird - another egg from this batch hatched yesterday night
Any chance anyone can tell?
(bator was only opened for a minute to candle)
Ok, thank you. temp is staying pretty stable but if it does fluctuate it always stays between 36.9 and 38.1, a couple times it has gone up to 38.4 but was brought down quickly
