    Well it depends on how many chickens you want. I bought 4 for $5 each I believe. I couldn't accommodate more than that. Plus 1.5 hours isn't too far. I think it was 1 hour 20 Minutes from me.

    We got our girls at Jersey Chicken in Jackson, NJ. I think their policy is that they will take the roosters back if they are sexed incorrectly.

    Thanks lightchick! We love our Australorps. So docile and this obviously scared them. I'm very happy they stuck together :)

    Thanks you! I sure hope so. How scary :/ at least the 2 stuck together. They are Australorps so they were already skittish. Since they were only 3.5 months would it be okay to introduce 8 week old chicks? I only have one coop so reintroduction will need to happen fast.

I am located in Monmouth county and was wondering if anyone knew of a local farm that can guarantee females that is also locate. I'm looking at australorps, Rhode Island reds, or orpingtons.
