Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

Wowzers, it has definitely been a while! I’m still keeping chickens, currently have EEs maturing and starting to lay eggs and figuring out that I have 4 roos with so not enough hens right now! I have 15 rtl pullets coming June 5th, so waiting to see how that goes once quarantine and integration...

    Azure blue

My azure blues lay medium sized eggs at best! Everything I read and researched said they laid large eggs but mine are quite small compared to my large - jumbo sized brown eggs. The birds themselves are small and flighty- we call them the speed chickens. No problem with feed or anything as they...

    Day olds with establish flock?

Thanks for your advice! I’ve never had a problem with my flock free ranging, even when I moved them from the house to their new coop. I’m hoping if they’re integrated then they will follow the big girls around. But I could also figure out how to makeshift a little run for them somehow.

    Day olds with establish flock?

Oh perfect! At what age do you let them all out together? I have free range chickens , so no fences, and would like to let the new littles out in the hopes that they go with the big hens.

    Day olds with establish flock?

Hi everyone! So I’ve really been hoping that my 1-year old hens would start brooding more chicks but so far this doesn’t seem the case! I’m also desperate for more chickens because the demand for my eggs is so high! So I was thinking of buying more day- old chicks from the same hatchery I bought...

    Help! Ducks attacking chickens!

HELP! My two female ducks have gone broody (I have 10 hens as well) and the single drake and alternating duck is violently protecting the entire coop, including all 4 empty nest boxes! My hens can’t lay so I’ve since put all three ducks in a separate area within the coop, but they can’t stay...

Two Silkies, 4 months, help sexing?

Yes he is!! The other is a blue, and I lost one about 1 month ago that was a yellow with blue splash. They’re all stunning and came from a great breeder! I love them so much and want to keep them. I would also like to add some females if I can find them where I am. They have a lovely disposition...

Two Silkies, 4 months, help sexing?

I really want to keep them! They’re my little fluffy butt babies. Finding Silkies where I am is challenging, and finding pullets would be even harder.

Two Silkies, 4 months, help sexing?

Darn.... okay thank you! That’s what I was thinking. Now not sure what to do because I have a flock of 10 standard hens and a rooster, and they haven’t integrated and spend much of their time by themselves.

The blue silkie has a more reddish comb and wattle; however, the black and white acts more “protective”, like pecking at my hand if I go in to pick them up.

    Loud hen then “wheezing” sound?

Hey everyone! Yep! You nailed it! It was an egg song! Chickens are so strange..... but hooray for more eggs!

    Loud hen then “wheezing” sound?

Hi there! I’m not sure why I can’t post short videos, but on the app I’m not able to. In short, I got home from the store today to extremely loud BOK BOK BAKAWK! Sounds from the coop in a nesting box. I watched for maybe 40 minutes and went back inside. When I came out she had laid an egg (just...
