@SmiYa0126 In SWMO we have fat lard hawks too. They feasted on chicken before COVID & grew to the size of eagles. Now I’m WFH all day & my girls [Pyrador & Pyredane] get so excited when mommy says “let’s go to the chicken yard & chase off the nasty hawks”.
I’m certain someone has replied already. I will just note here, first commercial layer feed is not the best option for chickens, second if you must feed it, switch to All-Flock feed until you littles are larger. All-Flock is a better all around choice anyway.

Yes, whole dried. Sold as whole cleaned corn. As long as chickens have access to grit, or small rocks they can digest things a LOT harder than corn.

We had a coon attack very similar to this. 62 juveniles killed and piled up in the corner of the coop. All with single bite marks to the head/neck. A couple remains were outside the coop. Set up traps and trail cams. Coons! They will kill for sport/pleasure.

We always have a couple RIR and some NH Reds in our mixed flock. Solid producers, right up there with RSL/BSL. It may just be the area they are in. In SWMO everyone sells RIR.
Check out the existing hatcheries. What do they carry? What do they run short of & when? Good basic heritage breeds mixed use are always a solid bet. Then add some unique breeds like Ayam Cemani or the Blue Laced Red Wyandottes.
