Disregard this post. Edited for duplication on my end. Apparently I am an idiot.

Our coop we just built (aka the mini barn)! Pic Heavy.

Absolutely. I know early on I twice had a big gust blow our door shut. The girls were locked out and it messed up their laying for the day. Somehow, theyre able to refrain from laying when they are not comfortable with their situation. Causes me to be concerned about them laying internally...

How to Increase laying rate of chickens this time of year???

Yep, protein and increased light. Understand your desire to increase flock, but my personal preference too is to let them rest as nature intended. All good things in time.

Really beautiful coop! Thanks for sharing the progressive epics. Do you have a way to keep their door open on a windy day? Couldn't see from the photos.

    Must chickens have a coop?

I would think that your shed essentially is a coop in Vegas. But your run has got to be absolutely securely enclosed - and needs to be stronger/thicker than chicken wire. Also, is it a metal shed? More to the point, will the chickens have a cool place to retreat to from the hot sun?

Feeding food scraps - good or bad?

The second article spoke of giving away two chickens to each household willing to take them. I agree with the use of the chickens for reducing waste; but, I worry that some folks would neglect the welfare of their hens. People all too often treat free objects as objects of no value. If we...

How far from the wall should I put the roosts?

Makes since. Different specifications for different needs. My chicken coop would be too small for more than 6-7 chickens if my girls had to spend their days inside. But its warm enough year round here that they free range all day every day, and I can keep 8-12 chickens comfortable in it at...

    Hello everyone so many questions

You don't have to have electricity running to coop, but if you can have it safely run out there you won't regret it. I don't use a heat lamp for my girls; but, I love having a light to turn on in the morning when I let them out and evening when they go back in and I give a head count. Or if...

Broken nail bled profusely! What now?

You can definitely get quick stop at pet store. But flour works just as well. You're just trying to get a thickening agent to help the wound slow down the blood flow so it can coagulate. A little bit of blood always looks like a lot with an injury. But I have no experience with how much blood...
