pretty dang impressive for a 13 year old for sure..future carpenter?
one idea you can use to keep the door open is a heavy duty hook lock on the inside of the door.
while it is not ideal it is more attractive then the wood you have keeping it open now.
I have been using the hook lock...
you have to introduce them slowly.Take the rooster out of the main pen and put him in a cage where the hens can see him but not get to him.keep them like that for about a week, then maybe add a hen or 2 to his pen and see how that gos..
when you do finally add him to the main pen,do it at night...
His son said he dose but hes not sure the breed/breeds.gotta give the father a call in the am to find out,I will let you know by tomorrow night.
what breeds are you looking for?
I got a nice 8wk old Golden comet from him last month that I am very happy with.
I'm not sure what breed of rabbits he has, there not really my thing.I do know he has meat rabbits as well as another {pet type} breed.
I will find out for you.
by the way,he also has black stars and ducks!
he has been working with birds for over 30 years and has over 300 on his farm!
Good for you for saving that hen!! It is disgusting the way some people treat there animals. Its nice to know there are still good people such as yourself in this world.
I have 4 9wk old pr RIR pullets 2 golden comets,1 barred rock and a rooster of unknown origins.I would like to focus on RIR...
