Ooooooh, this is definitely a possibility and would be preferred over the penned version. Our chickens are out and roaming freely during the day, so it'd make sense. Thanks for the insight!
Thanks everyone. There's a local farm selling 10 week old pullets we are thinking of getting and adding to our flock. After reading various articles and forums, I've heard just a few days of the look no touch pen, to a few weeks. Does this adjustment time simply vary depending on the temperament...
We've had a rough week and lost 4 chickens to a predator. We have one survivor. She's a year and a half old. Do you think it'd be too stressful to add new members to the flock so soon? If we wait too long, will she get upset as she gets comfortable as being the queen of her coop?
