    I got a ee ameraucana that mate with one the hens. When she laying an egg. He is inside with her. I know wild birds does this. males will sit on eggs. Wondering if chicken has this same thought?

    Thanks I figure I would just keep them separated til maturity. I will get some oyster shell. I built a addition second coop with a door in between. But I have more babies. 3rd generation will need to get out of the outside brooder. Everybody see each other lol!

    is Dumor (dumour) a good feed brand?

    Hmm? Good question! After 6 monthes with Dumor. I got 1 hen now won't touch it. Will eat everything else but that. I watch her eggs slowly turn to rubber. I incubated some new ones to add to my flock. Getting me some concerns.

    Hmm? I don't know where someone says 8 weeks to add chicks. Very bad idea! It was a instant war zone. My idea is as soon the chicks gets the same size as the hen. Try again. I have enough space in my coop and hopefully they will leave each other alone.

    I've done this too. Next they will try to dust bathe in it. lol! I made a temporary enclose place out in my yard so they can play and roll in the sand. Course food and water. Mine are now just 3 weeks. I do this every other day

    yea I got one chick that does that. I'm figuring vitamin deficiency. The eggs I got from someone didn't feed his hen right. It look sad to see this. Guess to pump the little guy up with extra vitamins and hope this condition goes away.

    how big a egg get

    in grams its 96.6 and 3.10 ozt and 3.4 oz. All her eggs are this size. Only one yolk. had her now about 8 months. Sorry i read it wrong. Still its a big egg and don't fit in a egg carton.
