    Depressed hen?

Sounds just like my hen. My 4-year-old BR has been like this for weeks now and still not sure what's wrong. I took a fecal sample to my vet that came back negative for parasites. She's eating and drinking though not as much as usual, walks slowly, tail down, poops fine, some weight loss, lots of...

    Weak Chicken

Maybe give her some electrolytes in the water. Try mixing some feed into the hard-boiled or scrambled eggs.

    100% Repurposed Coop!

Love it! The fact that it's all made from re-purposed materials makes it more special. The chicks look happy!

    Tail Feathers

Cockerels are usually slower to feather than pullets. He's fine.

Can anyone tell me what breeds I have, and if possible...sex?

Here's a pic of my BSL. She has black feathers in back that have a green sheen to them. Beautiful and great layer too.

    Chicken yard questions

We built a 42" fence around two sides of the garden and coop/run a month or so ago. The chickens are happy to stay in the fenced area so far. Dog Kennel to Coop?

They like to lay in the dark so I wouldn't put a window in the nest area. A door to the nesting box is a great idea, whatever makes it easier for you to collect eggs.

Can you tell what these Chicks are?

The two black ones with white on the head are probably barred rocks. The "chipmunk" looking one could be an easter egger. Does it have fluffy cheeks?

    Help Me Save My Chicks!

Are you feeding the chicks mealworms? If so, they need grit in order to digest them. The best thing is probably to just give them the starter feed for now.

    Redesigning our coop

How about extending the coop to the right of the existing coop and adding on to the run on the right side.
