My young rooster used to attack me. I watched him hatch, took care of him, so it felt personal when he would come at me. But I decided to wait. And it paid off. He is gorgeous and a good protector now. He runs to me for treats and never attacks me or my kids. So I assume it was teenage hormones...

I am also from NY, Staten Island actually. Can I just ask you directly in this post.. We hatched a chick and a rooster in may and now my neighbours are giving me a hard time with a rooster. Apparently he is a criminal for making people know if there is a cat in the yard, or something...
Thank you, i might try that and be proactive about rehoming them. Was just feeling the injustice and all the prejudice :)) against the poor rooster man. I wish I could keep them and see what they turn out like. 😓

Hi! I emailed to a wild life rehaber several times since ducklings birth. No answer. A few days after ducklings birth, I tried to put it in warm water, it did great, but when I introduced her to a mama duck in the lake it was found, … the duckling got all wet, and despite mama duck coming...

I found a single egg with no nest and in the middle of the field, not hidden at all. Just blue loneliness on the short grass. So I incubated it and it is a possible mallard duckling. See pictures.
