Thank you all for the welcomes, I had 10 eggs set in the incubator but broke one yesterday while adding water still kicking myself but I guess every thing in life is a learning curve even at my age of 74 but loving my chooks am now going fox calling to settle a score oldbird1.
Hi and sorry for the 12 month delay but thank you for the welcome, have just started incubating 10 Rock eggs yesterday to replace my previous rock stock due to a bl---- fox got in and killed all but 1 rooster and they were beautiful birds only consolation got the fox and 2 of his sidekicks oldbird1
Hi Unicornmaid I have just recently sent my flock of D/B P/Rocks 2 roosters and 7 laying pullets up to my son living in Mudgee who was going to breed them as I cant keep Roosters in town but 2 weeks ago a blo--y fox got in the coop and killed all but for 1 Rooster so we have to start again...
Hi Linda B220 what I call milo is a grain about the size of hundreds and thousands and is chocolate brown in colour and grows similar to wheat but with a lot bigger grain head is not grown here in Australia as much as in the 1950 era oldbird1.
Hi Linda B220 I only use cracked corn and normally feed it to my chickens a round the 16 week old range but I do feed them milo seed from around the 12 week old when I can get it and they really tuck into that cheers oldbird1.
Hi Flock Master you have hit the nail on the head BIOFUEL, but I did try it myself first before feeding it to the chooks many years ago and it's really pretty good tasting my Plymouth Rocks Light Sussex and Road Island Reds are out there pecking at it now oldbird1.

I have been fermenting corn for a great number of years wont say what for but I dump the used product about half a bucket in the garden up the back yard and when I let the chooks out of an evening they make a dive to that spot keeps the birds on the wing happy also they really like it oldbird1.

Hi my feeding is staggered 4 to 1 which is 4 bags pellets to 1 bag grain which is cracked corn, wheat and milo biggest percentage being corn I also add sunflower seed when I fill my garden with sunflowers also have to watch the Cockatoo's and Parrots as they also love them but works out 4 months...
